Today, Mora Elementary had the incredible opportunity to welcome The NED Show to our school, and what an inspiring experience it was! NED, the lovable cartoon character whose name stands for Never Give Up, Encourage Others, and Do Your Best, brought a message of positivity, resilience, and kindness that resonated with each and every one of our students.
Through engaging stories, illusions, and yo-yo tricks, The NED Show not only entertained but also imparted valuable lessons that our students will carry with them. It's essential for our young learners to understand the power of perseverance, the importance of supporting each other, and the impact of always doing their best.
We're grateful to The NED Show for sharing such an important message with our students in such a memorable way. Here's to never giving up, encouraging others, and doing our best, not just in school, but in every aspect of our lives!
Mora Elementary's 2nd and 4th grade classes had a day filled with magic and music, as they got a special "sneak peek" of our spring musical, "The Little Mermaid"! It was a heartwarming sight to see the children's faces light up with excitement as they were transported under the sea to Ariel's world.
Not only did they get to witness the incredible talent of our cast, but they also had a "whale" of a time singing along to all the beloved songs. From "Under the Sea" to "Part of Your World," the melodies echoed through the halls, bringing smiles and laughter to everyone involved.
Let’s give a round of applause for our young audience and the performers who made this experience an unforgettable adventure!

Today, we stand together in solidarity, understanding, and joy for Down Syndrome Awareness Day. In Mrs. Rens' class, this day holds a special significance as we have the privilege of learning and growing alongside a student who has a sibling with Down Syndrome. To honor this day and bring awareness to the beauty of diversity, we've embraced the theme: "Rock Your Socks!"
Our students have stepped into school today wearing the silliest, most colorful, mismatched socks you can imagine, turning our hallways into a parade of joy and acceptance. But that's not all! With crayons in hand, our kids have also been coloring vibrant pictures of mismatched socks, filling our classroom with laughter and creativity.
These activities are more than just fun; they're a reminder of the uniqueness each person brings into this world. By rocking our mismatched socks, we celebrate the differences that make us all special. Let's continue to embrace and learn from each other, not just today but every day!
Our awesome Mora Elementary staff is finalizing the science of reading training this evening in the media center. This is part of the states READ Act. Thank you to all of the teachers for their commitment to life long learning!
Our intermediate teachers weekly meeting was lead by Allison Krueger and discussed vaping in Minnesota, what parents/students should look for, and the harmful effects of the addiction (along with the horrible chemicals in it). 89% of Mora students do NOT vape. Let's make that 100%. Thank you to the Better Together Coalition for leading this meeting.
This Mora Elementary Knowledge Bowl Team took third place tonight at Pine City. Nice job 5th and 6th graders!
The sea is calling! Mora High School is thrilled to present our Spring Production of "The Little Mermaid," a spectacular musical adventure that promises to enchant audiences of all ages. Today's Phy Ed class was nothing short of spectacular, as some of our fantastic students at Mora Elementary took their energy to new heights with a classic, colorful parachute! There's something magical about the simple joy that comes from working together to make waves, create a mushroom, and play games under a rainbow canopy.
Mrs. Mantel's class took full advantage of the glorious weather by spending extra time outdoors, and what a fantastic time they had! With the sun shining brightly and a gentle breeze in the air, it was the perfect backdrop for learning, playing, and exploring the wonders of nature.
Mrs. Stacy's preschoolers are all set to welcome St. Patrick's Day with open arms and big smiles! #LittleLeprechauns
We're excited to announce that Mora School will be hosting the Minnesota School Sealant Program on April 12th, providing your child with the opportunity to receive essential preventive dental services right here at school. A licensed dental professional will be on-site to offer sealants, cleanings, and fluoride varnishes to students from PreK to 12th grade.
To ensure your child can benefit from these services, we kindly ask you to complete and return the consent form that was sent home via both email and paper copy. Simply fill in your child's information and send it back to school at your earliest convenience.

The NED Show is coming to Mora Elementary! Grades PK-6 have the opportunity to see the NED Show on Friday, March 22nd during school. NED's Mindset Mission is a character education program that centers around three important messages that have lifelong relevance: Never give up, Encourage others and Do your best. During the assembly, students will learn about the importance of these three life skills while also enjoying storytelling, magic, humor and yo-yo tricks. We had some great students modeling the teacher during a language arts and vocabulary lesson in Mrs. Schultz fourth grade classroom!
Ms. Hambly's first graders had a deliciously fun reward for their stellar attendance - a root beer float party! Celebrating their commitment to coming to school every day, our students enjoyed a sweet treat that was as bubbly and delightful as their bright smiles.
This special treat not only rewarded their dedication but also created a memorable experience that emphasizes the importance of being present and engaged in learning. It's these moments that build a strong classroom community and inspire our young learners to continue striving for excellence.
Dive into the world of geometry with our kindergarteners as they embark on an exciting journey to discover the mysteries of 3D shapes! From cubes to spheres and pyramids, our young learners are getting hands-on, exploring vertices, faces, and edges with curiosity and joy.
This exploration is more than just fun; it's building a foundation for critical thinking and spatial awareness. Watching our kindergarteners light up as they count the corners of a cube or trace the edges of a pyramid is a reminder of the wonder that learning can bring.
Our second graders have made an exciting discovery during their free choice time - Boggle! This classic word game has quickly become a favorite, proving to be not just fun but a fantastic educational tool for young learners.
Boggle encourages our students to explore and play with words, enhancing their vocabulary, spelling skills, and cognitive abilities in a dynamic and engaging way. It's amazing to see them so absorbed, challenging themselves and each other to find new words hidden within the letter grid.
This game is a perfect example of how learning can be both effective and enjoyable. Kudos to our second graders for finding such a creative way to enrich their learning experience. Let's keep the letters tumbling and the minds buzzing!
Our fantastic nutrition staff have really made the elementary feel like a warm weather destination. Millie even came over to check it out and hang out with our students at breakfast!
