Mrs. Hasselfeldt's class had the wonderful opportunity to take their science lesson outdoors, thanks to a visit from Mrs. Hagle, an enthusiastic education student from SMSU. Under the warm sun and amidst the fresh air, our students explored scientific wonders with an expert-in-training! It was cool to see our young learners in action, engaging with nature and soaking up knowledge outside the traditional classroom walls. Mrs. Hagle brought exciting activities and experiments that made learning both fun and memorable. A huge thank you to Mrs. Hagle for making this day special and to Mrs. Hasselfeldt for continually finding innovative ways to inspire her students.

Today was no ordinary day in Mrs. Joy's 2nd grade class – it was a journey into the wonders of the cosmos! Our eager young astronomers embarked on an exciting adventure to learn about the solar eclipse. Armed with curiosity and special attire, our students experienced the magic of what the celestial event brings. Through interactive models, engaging discussions, and creative projects, they uncovered the mysteries of how and why eclipses occur, turning complex astronomical phenomena into playgrounds of imagination.

This week, our first graders journeyed through the enchanting world of literature, taking them to the cherished pages of "Frog and Toad: The Garden." As they delved into the story, they explored its whimsical yet profound lessons on patience, care, and the simple necessities of life. Inspired by Frog and Toad's gardening adventures, they embarked on their own horticultural journey. With hands in the soil and hearts filled with anticipation, they planted beans in their very own greenhouses and adorned the classroom with plants nestled in beautifully decorated pots. The story taught them that while talking to plants, reading stories, or playing music for them might be fun, what they truly need to thrive is time, sunlight, and water. It's a lesson that resonates beyond the garden, reminding us of the fundamental care and patience required in all aspects of growth.

What a week it’s been in Miss Bakker’s and Mrs. Halverson's classes! Our hearts are full and our smiles wide after being graced by the cutest visitors on two tiny feet – adorable ducklings and baby chicks! This afternoon, Miss Bakker's classroom transformed into a bustling hub of quacks and peeps as we welcomed some fluffy ducklings. Their antics kept us all on our toes, proving that these little ones are not just cute but also quite the skilled escape artists! Earlier in the week, Mrs. Halverson's class had the joy of holding and petting baby chicks, adding even more warmth and wonder to our week of baby bird encounters. Witnessing the soft fluff and hearing their gentle sounds up close was truly a special experience for everyone involved.

Ms. Hambly's 1st graders embarked on a thrilling Easter egg hunt, but with a delightful twist—instead of searching for candy, they were on the lookout for spelling words during their reading time! Each found egg revealed a new word, combining the joy of the hunt with the excitement of learning. But the fun didn't stop there! For math, our young mathematicians turned into scientists and engineers as they graphed jelly beans by color and then used these sweet tools to create impressive 3D structures. It was a deliciously hands-on way to explore numbers, shapes, and even a bit of engineering! Through these creative activities, Ms. Hambly's class not only celebrated the festive spirit of Easter but also reinforced key skills in reading and math in the most memorable way.

Today, Mora Elementary had the incredible opportunity to welcome The NED Show to our school, and what an inspiring experience it was! NED, the lovable cartoon character whose name stands for Never Give Up, Encourage Others, and Do Your Best, brought a message of positivity, resilience, and kindness that resonated with each and every one of our students. Through engaging stories, illusions, and yo-yo tricks, The NED Show not only entertained but also imparted valuable lessons that our students will carry with them. It's essential for our young learners to understand the power of perseverance, the importance of supporting each other, and the impact of always doing their best. We're grateful to The NED Show for sharing such an important message with our students in such a memorable way. Here's to never giving up, encouraging others, and doing our best, not just in school, but in every aspect of our lives!
