Great Winter Program 1st graders!

This week Mrs.Gerth's class wrapped up Unit 1 by reading, Dinner at Binh's House. The story talked about Vietnamese food and friendship. The characters ate noodles with chopsticks. We didn't eat the noodles, but practiced using chopsticks!

Craig Schultz visited Mrs. Kelsey Nolt's classroom for Veterans Day! Shared some stories and let students try on some uniform apparel.

Mr. Voce stopped in and read a book about standing up for others to Mrs. Verdon's class. The students love listening to stories from our guests.

Natasha Segelstrom, U.S. Navy veteran, spent the morning in her son's classroom teaching about Veterans Day and her time spent in the military. Owen was proud to help his mom share how they keep in contact with his dad who is currently stationed overseas with the U.S. Army. His father recorded a special surprise message for him and the rest of Mrs. Verdon's class. Thank you veterans for your service!

The Town and Country Insurance Agency in Mora elected to use one of their monthly wheel spin matches of the year to donate snacks to the Mora Elementary School per a request they saw posted by our school Social Worker, Sara Rossow on Facebook. Total donation amount was $465, of which they purchased snacks and a $100 Coborn's gift card for future purchases of additional goodies such as fruit, string cheese, yogurts, etc.
We had fun shopping together and are happy to be able to make this happen for our local school!
We appreciate all that Mora Public Schools do for the students, thank you!
