In observation of the Juneteenth Holiday, Mora Public Schools will be CLOSED today, (Wednesday, June 19th). Business and activities will resume on Thursday, June 20th.

It has been brought to our attention that there was an error on our Juneteenth social media post and communications. The information on the purpose of Juneteenth was incorrect. The post and communications has been corrected. We apologize for this error.
Celebrated every year on June 19, Juneteenth commemorates the day in 1865 when some of the last enslaved people in the United States learned of their emancipation in Texas. This was nearly two years after President Abraham Lincoln had signed the Emancipation Proclamation.
