New mural at elementary school photo

New "Millie" Mural at Mora Elementary. An enormous new mural was just completed on a stairway landing wall close to the K and 3rd grade classrooms. The creation of "Millie" the Mustang, in the official school branding style, was a project requested by Randy Qual, the Mora Elementary School principal. This endeavor took only five sessions to complete, thanks to help from Mora Art Club students (senior Emma "Bee" and 8th grader Katelyn) and a volunteer named Maddie Chidester. Mora's 7th-12 grade art teacher, Lee Ann Falen, led the project. The biggest challenge of creating this mural was the sheer size of the ideas. For example, the top of Millie's mane is 16 feet off the floor! This mural was possible thanks to funding from Mora CAPP (Comprehensive Arts Planning Program), who paid for the latex paint from Mora ACE Hardware. Big thanks also to the custodial crew at the elementary school for their assistance with ladders.
